What are the effects of abrasive particle size of automatic sandblasting machine on the surface treatment effect of aluminum parts?
Abrasive particle size is the core factor to determine the final state of aluminum surface, which directly affects three key dimensions: surface roughness, cleaning efficiency and appearance texture.
1. Directly determine the surface roughness
Coarse-grained abrasives (such as 80 meshes or less): with high impact force, deep and obvious concave-convex texture will be formed on the surface of aluminum parts, and the roughness (Ra value) is usually above 1.6μm, which is suitable for pretreatment scenes (such as heavy coatings) that need strong adhesion.
Fine-grained abrasive (such as 120 mesh and above): the impact is softer, the texture formed is fine and uniform, and the roughness (Ra value) can be as low as 0.4μm, which can create a matte or nearly mirror-like delicate appearance and is suitable for products with high requirements for surface accuracy.
2. Affect the cleaning efficiency and effect.
Coarse-grained abrasive: it has stronger cleaning ability, can quickly remove thick oxide scale, stubborn welding slag or deep scratches on the surface of aluminum parts, and the treatment efficiency is 20%-30% higher than that of fine-grained abrasive, but it is easy to leave deep marks on the surface.
Fine-grained abrasive: the cleaning power is weak, which is more suitable for removing slight oil stain, thin oxide layer or residue after fine processing, and cannot effectively deal with heavy impurities, but it can avoid excessive damage to the surface of aluminum parts.
3. Change the surface appearance and texture
Coarse-grained abrasive: the final surface presents a strong "frosty feeling", the texture is clearly visible, and there is obvious graininess when touching, which is suitable for the design of pursuing industrial style, anti-slip or hiding slight defects.
Fine-grained abrasive: the surface texture is closer to "silky matte", the texture is not obvious, and the light reflection is more uniform. It is suitable for products that require high appearance fineness such as home appliances and electronic accessories.
