The sand blasting cleanliness is usually measured by SA grade standard. There are two recognized standards of SA cleaning grade in the world

1、 It is the SA level set by Sweden in 1976.

2、 SSPC level established by the United States in 1985.

Because Sweden first established this standard, the standard of cleaning level is basically measured by SA level.

SA level is divided into four levels: SA1, SA2, Sa2.5, SA3

Sa1 ：

Generally, the method of simple hand brushing and gauze grinding is adopted on the surface of the workpiece, which is the lowest level among the four cleanliness, and the protection of coating is only better than that of untreated workpiece. The technical standard of SA1 grade treatment is that no oil, grease, residual oxide skin, rust spot and residual paint can be seen on the surface of workpiece.

Sa2 ：

Generally, sand blasting method is used for cleaning. SA2 level is the lower level in sand blasting treatment, which is the general requirement. However, the protection of coating is much higher than that of manual brush cleaning. SA2 technical standard: no oil, oxide scale, rust, corrosion and other foreign substances can be seen on the surface of the workpiece. If there are dents on the surface of the workpiece, slight rust and paint will remain at the bottom of the dent.

Sa2.5：

This level is widely used in industry and can be used as acceptance technical requirements and standard level. Standard Specification for Sa2.5 treatment: the same as the upper part of SA2, but the defect limit is not more than 5-8% of the surface per square meter, including light shadow; a small amount of light fading caused by defects and corrosion; oxide skin and paint defects.

Slight discoloration caused by corrosion; oxide scale and paint defects.

Sa3 ：

This level is the advanced specified processing level in industrial production. The standard specification of SA3 treatment is the same as that of Sa2.5 grade, but the shadow and rust of SA3 treatment are more complete than that of Sa2.5 treatment, and these shadows and rust will not appear.
